The countryside in the Šumava Mountains is beautiful no matter if you hike or ride a horse. You can rest in our sauna or during a massage every evening; another option is to have a cup of coffee or a few drinks with friends.
Lipno offers also a beautiful winter holiday – the Lipno skiing resort is situated right next to it while more demanding skiers can go to the nearby Hochficht resort; the area is perfect for cross-country skiing or skating on the frozen lake.
Lipno is a paradise for yachting, windsurfing, kiteboarding and other water sports. You can borrow all you need in the local rental shops and test it right there. Or you can take your family for a safe electric boat trip on Lake Lipno.
The countryside in the Šumava Mountains is beautiful, wild and undamaged. In spite of that it is accessible, safe and hiking paths are well marked. And what’s most important – the beautiful countryside surrounds everywhere.
Hundreds of kilometres of cycling paths through a beautiful countryside with varied surfaces and altitude differences – starting with adrenaline slopes and ending with routes suitable for little children – make a bike or an in-line skating trip.

Beaches, swimming, sunbathing and refreshing clean water – this is also typical of Lipno. Would you like to spend a whole day on the beach and swim? It is just up to you... Lipno – the South-Bohemian sea - is the largest lake in the Czech Republic.
Lipno is also a famous fishing resort. You can catch a pike, a catfish, a carp or a pikeperch and other types of fish. Or you can order tasty fish meat in one of the local restaurants.
Winter is beautiful in Lipno and if you like skiing, snowboarding or cross-country skiing you can find a modern skiing resort suitable for a whole family, beginners, advanced skiers and small children.
You can find the Reebok fitness studio just in the building of the residence and thanks to modern equipment everybody can do sports no matter how old he/she is. Sports are supposed to be fun – not drudgery.

LIPNO

The countryside and the possibilities for sport activities, cultural events and close proximity to historical sites (Český Krumlov – UNESCO site, Rožmberk Castle, Hluboká Castle) makes Lipno special. Everything is within easy reach and yet one is surrounded by pristine nature. Lipno in South Bohemia is one of the most popular holiday destinations for Czechs as well as foreign visitors.

Sport

The Lipno area is a paradise for water sports. The Lipno Lake is the largest water area in the Czech Republic available for yachting, windsurfing, kite boarding; one can hire an electric boat or a pedal boat. You can enjoy rafting or canoeing on the River Vltava.

Horse riding is also available.

There are dozens of kilometres of cycle paths around Lipno with various surfaces ranging from tarmac to forest roads with various levels of camber and difficulty. Most cycle paths are available for in-line skating.

Nordic walking – walking with special walking sticks - has recently become very popular and can be enjoyed on footpaths.

If you like fishing you will enjoy plenty of it at Lipno – especially pike, pikeperch and catfish are among the great catches.

An indoor swimming pool open all-year-round is right in the centre of Lipno nad Vltavou.

In winter you can ski in the ski resort Lipno Kramolím which is covered in artificial snow or go to the nearby ski resort Hochficht in Austria. Around Lipno is a vast network of maintained cross-country tracks interconnected with resorts in Austria and Germany.

Historical sites

Český Krumlov is only 30 km away from Lipno. Its centre is a UNESCO heritage site. The fairy tale castle in Hluboká nad Vltavou is 65 km away from Lipno. The Rožmberk Castle above the River Vltava is only 16 km away in Rožmberk nad Vltavou. A famous monastery with a large library and a post museum is in Vyšší Brod. Near Frymburk is the castle ruin of Vítkův Kámen which has a lookout and in the woods on the right bank of the Lipno Lake is the man made Schwarzenberg Channel for timber floating which was built in 18th century.

Kultura

In the summer many regular events take place in the region (LIPNO OPEN AIR 2008, Frymburk Festival, Markéta’s Fair in Hormí Planá, Český Krumlov Festival and others).

You can see how timber was floated in the Schwarzenberg Channel, enjoy a ride on a historical steam engine, visit a museum or enjoy a theatre play at the revolving open-air auditorium in the gardens of Český Krumlov Castle.
